Kumquat

Kumquat is an orange-like fruit nicknamed The Little Gold Gem of the Citrus Family, thanks to its distinctive taste, juicy interior and sweet, edible peel. When eaten skin and all, one gets a crunchier sweet and sour taste that is different from any other fruit out there.

All of Avniv's products, including Kumquats, are grown naturally with no artificial ripening. This Golden Gem grows on cold-hardy citrus trees and ripens every year around February, on its way to become a table fruit that is perfect for eating on the move. One can also use its seeds, which contain pectin, to prepare jellies and jams.

Kumquats are a little bigger than olives and similarly shaped, and are originated in South Asia and the Asia-Pacific. They are easily distinguished by their bright skin color, usually orange.

This fruit is extremely low in saturated fat, Sodium and Cholesterol. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin C and Dietary Fiber.
